Increasing vitality also changes the needs related to housing conditions. The answer to the aging persons’ needs is different solutions to life in old age. Through restructuring, homes are shifting to the categories of care institutions, palliative care, and hospices, while elderly persons’ residential living and active life take place in alternative, newer residential forms.
